As glass sizes on the facade have expanded and curtain walls and aluminum joinery systems have become widespread, in addition to tempered safety glass as the outer glass unit, especially in most of the facade glass, for reasons such as safety, strength and thermal breakage, we offer glass solutions to the different needs of projects with the products in our rich range of very different performances, ranging from 70% to 40% in daylight transmittance and from 40% to 22% in the Şişecam Temperable Solar Low-E Glass range in all projects that require both solar and heat control.
Products in the Şişecam Temperable Solar Low-E Glass range are expressed with two numbers. The first of these numbers refers to the percentage of sunlight transmittance, and the second refers to the total solar energy transmittance value (solar factor or g value).
For example, for the Şişecam Temperable Solar Low-E Glass Neutral 58/32, 58 refers to the sunlight transmittance percentage (i.e. the rate of sunlight entering the interior), and 32 refers to the total solar energy transmittance value (solar factor or g value). The lower the solar factor, the lower the cooling costs and the easier it is to ensure indoor comfort.
The ratio of glass on the facade, the sunlight requirement the project, and the glass selection are interrelated. The type of glass that would be suitable for a facade that is almost entirely glass and the type of glass that we would recommend for a project with a glass ratio of less than 50% on the facade are different from each other.
Neutral 70/40: Boutique hotels, villas, and store windows where high light transmittance, maximum transparency, and low reflection are required, as well as heat and sun control, and where the view is prominent (neutral-greenish color effect).
Neutral 70/37: Residences, villas, and boutique hotels where maximum transparency and relatively low reflectance, as well as more effective heat and sun control, are prominent (bluish color effect).
Neutral 62/44: Residences, schools, etc. where high light transmittance, thermal insulation, and solar control are required (silver-bronze color effect).
Neutral 58/32: Residences, schools, etc. where effective heat and solar control is required (greenish-bluish color effect).
To benefit from natural light as much as possible in residential and educational buildings, solutions are provided with products such as Şişecam Temperable Solar Low-E Glass Neutral 62/44 and 58/32, which have a high light transmittance of over 55% and can provide solar control and heat control in addition to light transmittance.
In addition to the function of the building, facade directions and the glass ratio on the facade are some of the glass selection criteria in projects. In projects such as offices, hospitals, airports and hotels with high amounts of glass façades, controlled light transmittance should be taken into consideration, which will reduce the need for artificial lighting while providing effective solar control, as well as glare and glistening control in the interior due to the cooling need that occurs throughout the day, especially in the summer months. Therefore, solutions are offered with Şişecam Temperable Solar Low-E Glass Neutral 50/33, 51/28, 50/27, and 50/25 products.
Neutral 50/33: Offices, hotels, and hospitals where optimum light transmission, glare/glistening control, and both thermal insulation and effective solar control are required (silver color effect).
Neutral 51/28: Offices, hospitals, and hotels where optimum light transmittance, glare/glistening control, as well as thermal insulation, and very effective solar control, are required (blue-green color effect).
Neutral 50/27: Offices, hospitals, and hotels where optimum light transmission, glare/glistening control, and both thermal insulation and very effective solar control are required (blue color effect).
Neutral 50/25: Offices, hospitals, hotels and airports where optimum light transmittance, glare/glistening control, as well as more effective thermal insulation and very effective solar control are required (bluish color effect).
Neutral 41/27 and 43/28: Hot climate zones and roof lights where controlled daylight transmission, glare control, and effective solar control are prominent (silver reflection effect).
Neutral 40/22: Warm climate zones and roof lights where controlled daylight transmission, glare control, and more effective solar control are prominent (bluish tint effect).
Deep Blue 40/28: Warm climate zones and roof lights where controlled daylight transmission, glare control, and more effective solar control are prominent (blue color effect).
Green 40/28: Warm climate zones and roof lights where controlled daylight transmission, glare control, and more effective solar control are prominent (green color effect).
