Şişecam Acoustic Laminated Glass is Şişecam's noise control glass. It is specially developed to provide effective sound insulation in environments with high noise levels. It is also a safety and security glass like Şişecam Laminated Glass. For a better acoustic performance,
• Thicker glass must be used,
• Glass of different thicknesses must be used in double or multiple glass combinations,
• Laminated or acoustic laminated glass must be used alone or in double glass combinations.

• In factories, Şişecam Acoustic Laminated Glass can be used for effective sound insulation.

Şişecam Acoustic Laminated Glass is produced by combining two or more glass plates under heat and pressure with the help of special acoustic polyvinyl butyral (PVB) layers that provide sound insulation.
Thanks to PVB, acoustic laminated glasses absorb sound vibrations, thus ensuring less sound transmission to the other side.
For effective sound insulation, similar precautions must be taken for separating elements such as walls, roofs, and joinery in the building.
There is approximately a 3dB difference between Şişecam Laminated Glass and Şişecam Acoustic Laminated Glass and a 5 dB difference between Şişecam Clear Flat Glass and Şişecam Acoustic Laminated Glass. A 10dB difference in acoustic insulation corresponds to approximately 50% noise reduction.

Correction Factors
C and Ctr Spectrum adaptation values evaluate the suitability of construction parts about exposure to certain sounds.
These correction factors, called C and Ctr spectrum adaptation values, reduce the noise-related Rw sound insulation measure of the building part according to the EN table.
A building part with Rw (C, Ctr) = 40 (-1, -5) has an insulation performance of 40 dB. Sound insulation is 1 dB lower for higher-frequency noise sources and 5dB lower for lower-frequency sources.
