The Baku Olympic Stadium, designed by TOCA, adheres to the highest international sports standards. This remarkable structure in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, fulfills the criteria set by UEFA, FIFA, and IAAF. With a seating capacity of 68,700, it is the largest stadium in Azerbaijan.
Boasting five distinct roof shells and an asymmetrical roof form, the stadium stands as a stunning example of modern architecture. The roof cover, symbolizing the five rings and continents of the Olympic flag, seamlessly merges with the facade cover that begins at the tribune levels, creating a unified aesthetic.
The project is situated near Lake Boyukshor and spans a total area of 496,000 sqm, with a covered construction area of 204,000 sqm. Along with a vast green space, it features commercial zones, press areas, and private sections for CIP, VIP and VVIP. Furthermore, the design has been meticulously crafted to be disability-friendly, with designated special areas.
The efficient entry-exit system, with a reliable and long-lasting structure, is made possible by the high-quality door accessories from Esbau Yapı Sistemleri. These accessories include all the necessary components for quick, smooth, and flawless operation of over 300 doors across the stadium. To enhance security measures, very large and tall doors were chosen to allow many fans to evacuate simultaneously. The flush mounted door closers and pivot door hardware supplied by Esbau Yapı Sistemleri make it possible to properly install and effectively operate doors of this size. These accessories include BTS 80 EN 3-6 and BTS 75 EN 2-5 flush mounted door closers and pivot door hardware.
The Baku Olympic Stadium is more than a sports venue; it's a year-round urban attraction. It has fulfilled its aim of becoming a hub for non-sporting events, hosting functions such as festivals, performing arts, a museum, concerts, exhibitions, a shopping center, a sports and wellness club, restaurants, office areas, and an information center. Additionally, it plays a significant role in the country's sports history by hosting the Azerbaijan national football team.
