Gravit8 is a lifestyle hub situated on a spacious 15-acre land in Klang, Malaysia. Strategically positioned along the KESAS Highway, one of the primary intercity routes in the Klang Valley, Gravit8 offers a mix of residences, business towers, a hotel, and SOHO units. This project aims to create a self-sustainable living center that encourages a healthy lifestyle. Its slogan, "Where Urban Meets Nature" embodies its commitment to providing a harmonious urban-natural experience.
The Pier8 Shopping Center, nestled within the Gravit8 complex, received the 'Low-Rise Commercial Building Award - Gold Category' in January 2021. This prestigious award was presented by PAM (Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia), the Malaysian Institute of Architecture, a national body representing architects in Malaysia. The importance of interior design for the project's success was accentuated. A roomy and evenly lit interior was designed, highlighting the wood texture and maritime theme.
The 3-dimensional effect created in the entrance halls of the residential towers of the project was achieved thanks to the versatile design options offered by Durlum's linear open-cell ceiling system, POLYLAM.
POLYLAM enhances the sense of depth in the space with its curved panels, arranged in accordance with the architectural design. The project chose POLYLAM for its ability to customize variables such as size, shape, color, and texture of the panels to meet project requirements, resulting in unique and distinct looks. The project specifically opted for wood-like and curvilinear forms. Additionally, the cloud-like effect in the ceiling design allows more natural light to enter the interior and symbolizes a tropical sailing theme. The ceiling panels, each created in different forms and serving as parametric design elements, contribute to a deeper artistic expression in the interior design.
