Especially in metropolitan cities like Istanbul, where the population continues to grow, creating effective and sustainable transportation systems has become a top priority for city planners and administrators. In this context, metro lines play a critical role in managing heavy traffic, providing eco-friendly transportation options, and enabling fast and secure movement within the city.

The Umraniye-Atasehir-Goztepe Metro Line, one of Istanbul's longest metro projects, is 13 kilometers in length and its main tunnels were constructed using drilling and cut-and-cover methods in 2020. This line stands out as a vital component of Istanbul's transportation network with a total of 11 stations. When the Umraniye-Atasehir-Goztepe Metro Line reaches full capacity, it will have the ability to transport 44,000 passengers per hour in one direction, representing a significant step in enhancing the efficiency of urban transportation.

The water insulation technologies used in this project play an extremely important role in ensuring the durability and long life of the metro line. The Umraniye-Atasehir-Goztepe Metro Line is a strategic initiative to meet the growth and transportation needs of Istanbul.

It is crucial for this metro project, which is one of Istanbul's important arteries, to be resilient and long-lasting. One of the significant factors that provide these features is the proper implementation of waterproof. Therefore, Protan's waterproof solutions add substantial value to this important project. In this project, Protan BAT 3 mm PVC membrane with a signal thickness of 0.2 mm was used, making it a successful example of the second application of 3 mm PVC membrane in a metro project in Istanbul.
